Social Studies:
During our Social Studies time this week, the students will be going over Ipad rules and procedures. We will also be doing some solar eclipse activities.

Student of the Week
The Student of the week is William Alyea. The Student of the Week will share their poster with the class throughout the week. On Fridays, the Student of the Week may bring a special item to share with the class.

Teacher News:
I hope everyone had a great weekend! We made it through week one! It was a great week! Thank you to all of those who made it to Back to School Night. It was great meeting you all!

Weekly newsletters are also available digitally on the classroom website. Eventually, the newsletter will only be available online, later in the school year. Thank you to all who signed up for Remind. I will be using the Remind application to communicate immediate needs and information.

Please check out the classroom website frequently. The classroom website will consist of the newsletter, spelling lists/homework, and useful links. Ipads will be deployed sometime this week. The class will be going over Ipad rules and procedures.

This week will be our first “official” week. We will have a weekly story and spelling test this week. Our weekly story is Henry and Mudge. We will be focusing on short A and I words, CVC words, subjects and predicates, and ABC order. We will also be working on genre, sequence of events, and predictions.

Picture day is Monday, August 28, 2017.

Reading/Language Arts:
Our weekly story is Henry and Mudge. We will be focusing on short A and I words, CVC words, subjects and predicates, and ABC order. We will also be working on genre, sequence of events, and predictions.

Math:
We will be working on Topic 1: Addition and Subtraction Strategies.
The students also will be working on the Rocket Math program, which helps the students learn their math facts.
